Cricket Betting with a Bonus
Cricket is not the first sport most people in Cambodia follow, but it has a large international audience and a busy calendar, so readers who do follow it often ask how it fits with a sports bonus. The answer is: carefully. Cricket brings three complications other sports rarely have — matches that can last five days, weather that can cut a game short or wipe it out, and markets where several players can tie. Each of them affects whether a bet counts toward wagering. This page explains the formats and markets, then the rules to read first. Which competitions a Live777 sports section lists is shown on the operator's site.
Three formats, three rhythms
Test matches run for up to five days and can end in a win for either side or a draw. One-day internationals give each side a fixed number of overs and finish the same day. T20 is the shortest format, a few hours from start to finish, and the one that dominates franchise leagues. For a bonus the difference is time: a Test bet may not settle for days, and if the offer's expiry window closes first, the stake has done nothing for the requirement.
The main cricket markets
The match result has three outcomes in Tests and usually two in limited-overs games, with a tie handled by the rules of the competition. Innings runs and total match runs are over/under markets on scoring. Top batsman and top bowler ask which player will lead a team's scoring or wicket-taking. Shorter markets cover runs in the first six overs, the method of the next dismissal, or whether a batsman will reach fifty. In play, prices change after every over and every wicket.
Rules that decide whether a bet counts
Weather. Rain can shorten a limited-overs match, with the target adjusted by the official method, and bets usually stand if a result is reached. If too few overs are bowled, bets are voided — and void bets do not count toward wagering. Dead heats. When two players tie for top batsman, the stake is divided between them, so only part of the bet is paid at full odds; terms may count only the settled part. Minimum odds. A strong home side in a short format can be priced below a bonus's minimum, in which case the bet does not count at all.
Illustrative example, not a Live777 condition.
Say a bonus requires US$60 of settled bets (about 246,000 riel) at odds of 1.60 or more within seven days. Three US$20 T20 bets at 1.85, 2.10 and 1.70 that settle the same evening complete it, provided none is voided by rain. Three US$20 bets on Test matches starting on day five would still be unsettled when the window closes, and would count for nothing.
Live cricket and cash-out
In-play cricket rewards patience, because the momentum of an innings changes over by over. Cash-out is offered on many markets, but with a bonus active a cashed-out bet frequently drops out of wagering, and the price you are offered includes margin. Decide in advance whether you will use it.
The legal side and a budget
Nothing on this page suggests that betting is legal for you. Cambodia's Law on the Management of Commercial Gambling bars Cambodian citizens from gambling, apart from state lotteries; no Cambodian licence covers online betting, and in September 2026 the government announced that online operations at casinos would be suspended from early October 2026. If you follow cricket and bet, keep stakes small enough that a washed-out week does not tempt you to make up for it.
